Visit the Capitol Arts Center on Tuesday, September 18 for a screening of the independent film hillbilly. 7 pm is showtime.

Associate Producer Sam Cole will be in attendance to discuss the film. All Southern Circuit film screenings and free and open to the public, no ticket required.

hillbilly takes a personal and political journey into the heart of Appalachia, exploring the role of the media and culture in the creation of the iconic American “hillbilly.” The film examines the social, cultural, and political underpinnings of the infamous stereotype. hillbilly is a timely and urgent exploration of how we see and think about the South, poverty, and rural identity in contemporary America.
